Examine in detail the dramatic devices used by Wilde and Shakespeare to create comedy in The Importance of Being Earnest and Twelfth Night. Compare the use of these devices by these two playwrights while considering the audiences of their respective times.

Both The Tempest and Hamlet consider espionage and politics in the removal of a character from a position of justified rule. Antonio usurps Prospero for his dukedom in Milan, Claudius murders King Hamlet for his crown and queen. Considering the dynamic of power, rule, and bondage at work in both dramas, examine the motives that drive both Prospero and Hamlet to seek their justifiable revenge.
